Step 8 - Get your practical test booked

The pass rate for all tests taken is about 42% that means for all tests taken only about four result in a
pass.
The pass rate is so low because pupils are not really ready when they take the test.
The current cost of the Practical Test is £62.00 payable to the DSA when you book your test, on the test
day you will also have to pay for a 2 hour driving lesson, the first hour to get you to the test centre and a
final manoeuvre practice, the second hour for you to use my car for your test and then to get you home.
The actual test lasts about 40 minutes, you will drive for about 35 minutes and you will be expected to do
two reversing manoeuvres and possibly an emergency stop. To pass you must make 15 or less driver
faults (minor faults), but no serious or dangerous faults.
Before starting your drive you will be asked two questions about car safety, these are not difficult, I will
explain these during your lessons.
If you want I will accompany you on your test, its your test so you decide, about half of my pupils ask me
to go with them.
