Step 2 - Get your provisional licence
All rights reserved.
You will need a UK provisional licence before you can start your practical driving lessons
or take your theory test.

Normally, for car drivers, the earliest date your provisional licence can become valid is
your 17th birthday, however you can apply for the licence up to three months before your
17th birthday. It normally takes about 3 weeks to receive your licence.

The cost of your first licence is £
50, you can get a form and apply at the Post Office, and
you can also apply online at the DVLA website by following the link below - if you do that
now please come back because you have not finished your first lesson yet.
